Reader's Workshop

Each day students have a chance to read books independently as part of our Reader's Workshop. We have been focusing on becoming aware of ourselves as readers - our "taste" in books, our favorite books and our favorite reading memories. We have also been working on reading quietly and taking care of our books. So far students have been able to read books chosen out of a book tub on their table, but in another few weeks each student will have their own book basket with books at their individual reading level to read during our Reader's Workshop time. It has been great to have this time to walk around, listen to students read and talk to them about their reading. We have some great readers and lots of students that are excited about reading!
