The Chocolate Touch

Today we finished our second read aloud book (we are cruising through them!). This book was about John Midas who LOVES chocolate. He eats a magic piece of chocolate that makes everything that goes into his mouth turn into chocolate. Ask your child to tell you about all of the things that John turns into chocolate (don't forget to ask about what happens to his mom!). In the end John learns that it is best not to be selfish and that he needs to think of others. When he learns this lesson, he thankfully loses his chocolate touch. John was getting tired of chocolate!

Adalyn LOVED this book! She gave a great summary of the book and laughed as she told me. Thanks for doing a great job of teaching the children how fun reading can be!

After you finished this book in class, Abby pretty much re-told the entire story to me and said it is one of her favorite books! I'm gonna have to get it for our book collection for sure.
